An interactive and fun course! The topics covered are: Depression, Bi-Polar, Anxiety, OCD, Phobias, PTSD, Panic Attacks, Psychotic illnesses such as Schizophrenia, Self Harm and Suicide.
Often we have to deal with people experiencing mental distress in our work place or within our own family, but often we lack the skills and confidence to support them appropriately.
With one in four of us affected by mental health problems each year, service providers across Wales are being offered a new short training course to deal more effectively with these challanges.
The 12 hour course does not train you to be a therapist, counsellor or mental health professional. It will teach you to:
a) give initial help to someone experiencing a mental health problem
b) deal with a crisis situation or the first signs of someone developing mental ill health
c) guide people towards appropriate help.
An interactive and fun course! Topics covered are: Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicide, Bi-Polar, Anxiety, OCD, Phobias, PTSD, Panic Attacks, Psychotic Illness such as Schizophrenia, Self Harm and Drug and Alchohol Abuse.
This training programme is specifically designed for people living or working with young people. Like the adult course, the primary aims of YMHFA are to:
a) preserve life,
b) to prevent deterioration of a young person’s mental state,
c) to promote the recovery of good mental health and
d) to provide comfort to a young person experiencing a mental health problem.
This Workshop gives an overview of the major mental health issues indiividuals face including Depression and Anxiety. Interactive and fun!
This Workshop looks at Stress in detail with practical ways to help deal with it. It includes setting your own personal plan of dealing with your own stress.
This workshop would work well as a Team Building Day! It reviews the different areas of the participants life including; Career, Recreation, Home, Money, Health, Partner/Love, Friends and Family and Spirituality and looks to see if they are in balance.
We will also look to set some personal goals for getting participants life back in balance again!
Using a Cognitive Behavioural Approach, this workshop allows participants to explore how their thoughts directly effect their feelings and behaviours. The workshop will allow participants to start to allow their own thoughts to be re-aligned with some simple goal setting.
This workshop aims to help the participant to understand different relationships that participants might have; at work; in the family; making friends; having more close friendships; keeping friends and how your past can affect your friendships.
A Practical Workshop exploring how different kinds of Mentoring can be used effectively in the workplace and in life. Includes planning a Mentoring system that could be implemented into work places.
Spirituality is not Religion! This Workshop looks at defining Spirituality and how it can be an essential part of life at work and at home. It allows the participant to define spirituality in their own life. Suitable for all age ranges.

This workshop is relevant to any team working at any level within the organisation or business. We tailor our approach to make it relevant to your unique context. There will be benefits to individual team members and benefit to team communication, morale and performance.
Participants receive a short report about their own motivations, style, strengths and type of support they most appreciate from others. Then, in an interactive and fun way we consider how the different styles and strengths interact in the group. The team come away understanding and appreciating their differences and equipped to communicate more effectively with each other.

N.B. In advance of the workshop each participant needs to complete a 40-45 minute on-line questionnaire. The tool we use is well validated and researched and provides accurate information in a non-judgemental way. The insights gained can be readily and effectively applied in practical ways with clear benefits to both individuals and their working relationships.

This is a great workshop for a team building day. Whether it is weight loss, health benefits or something else that creates the desire to get into exericse, this workshop allows the participant to understand the different components of being 'Fit' and how it can become part of their life! It includes goal setting and working out an individualized exercise plan.
Using a simple Cognitive Behavioural Model, this workshop allows the participant to understand the basics of CBT and how to use it simply with colleagues or clients as an assessment and treatment tool.
Motivational Interviewing or Interactions is a really positive way to work with people. It specifically looks at helping people change their behaviours or habits.
Duration: 1 day or ½ day
This workshop will allow the participant to understand different mental health conditions and how it might affect work performance. It will also give you practical ideas of how to best work alongside your colleague/s who are struggling with their mental health.
